Pop-Up Vaccine Clinic for Dogs to be Hosted in Bolingbrook

BOLINGBROOK, IL – Bolingbrook Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta, and the K9 Enrichment Initiative, Inc./K9EI Rescue invite dog owners to a pop-up pet clinic from 1:00pm to 5:30pm (last appointments at 5:00pm) on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Bolingbrook Town Center. The appointment-only event, hosted in partnership with Petco Love, will provide distemper/parvo, bordetella and rabies vaccinations, microchipping services, and supplies for a $10 donation per pet.

“Ensuring pets have up-to-date vaccines can be lifesaving,” said Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta. “I invite any residents in need of these services to register for this pop-up clinic to keep their pets healthy.”

The free distemper/parvo vaccines were provided by Petco Love as part of their national vaccination initiative, which is providing three million free pet vaccines to animal welfare partners, including K9 Enrichment Initiative/K9EI Rescue, for family pets in need.

“Having two dogs of my own, I understand the importance of routine vaccinations and microchips,” said Mayor Alexander-Basta. “I am proud to again partner with K9 Enrichment Initiative/K9EI Rescue on their mission to vaccinate and microchip 1000 pets in 2024. K9 Enrichment Initiative/K9EI Rescue provides a resource for more residents to practice responsible pet ownership and get the help they need to keep their pets in their family.”

The clinic will be hosted outside behind the Bolingbrook Town Center, located at 375 West Briarcliff Road. Attendees can park in the north parking lot and follow the signs in walking to the clinic. Attendees must register in advance online at K9EI.dog. Volunteer opportunities are also available in emailing info@K9EI.dog

“I welcome residents to take advantage of this resource to ensure the health and wellness of your community’s pets,” said Cynthia Lynn Guzman, Executive Director of K9 Enrichment Initiative/K9EI Rescue. “We have had a great turnout of residents over the past months to take advantage of resources we provide and am thrilled to have Veterinary Emergency Group of Naperville joining us to ensure the health and wellness of our community’s pets in administering the rabies vaccines starting with the clinic in Bolingbrook. These clinics would not have been possible without our donors and grantees”
