Family of the Year 2024 - The Patel Family

The Village of Bolingbrook is honored to present the Family of the Year Award to The Patel Family, whose unwavering commitment to community service and cultural enrichment has profoundly impacted our village. Since moving to Bolingbrook in 2007, Bhavini, Kelan, Maya and Jena, have demonstrated a deep dedication to fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity within our community.

As founders of Sanskriti, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Indian culture.  The Patel Family has been a pivotal force in bringing together people of diverse backgrounds to celebrate the richness of their heritage. Their efforts have not only strengthened cultural ties but also built bridges of understanding and respect within Bolingbrook.

Beyond their involvement with Sanskriti, the Patel family has also devoted their time to volunteering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and For Kids Sake, organizations that have benefited greatly from their passion for giving back. Kelan, Bhavini, Maya, and Jena have all played active roles in these initiatives, whether it be by lending a helping hand at events, raising awareness for important causes, or simply offering support to those in need. Their commitment to service is a testament to the values they hold dear and their belief in the power of community to uplift and inspire.

Maya, a high school sophomore, and Jena, a college sophomore, have followed in their parents' footsteps, embodying the same spirit of generosity and compassion that defines the Patel family. The Patel family has made a lasting impact on Bolingbrook, making them truly deserving of this recognition. The Village of Bolingbrook is proud to celebrate the Patel family, including their loyal companion Shelby, as an outstanding example of what it means to be a positive force in our community.
