Trustees voted to approve the purchase of replacement Bunker Gear for the Fire Department.  The Fire Department replaces its bunker gear every five years.  This purchase is for 15 sets of gear for personnel.  There will be savings to the Village due to the bulk order.  The total cost is $44,731.38.

The Public Safety Committee reviewed and recommended approval.

Approval of Resolution (22R-068) Approving Electricity Supply Agreements with Constellation NewEnergy, Inc. (SUBJECT TO ATTORNEY APPROVAL)

Trustees voted to approve these two agreements which will fix the Village’s electrical supply cost for the next 73 months.  The first is for the Village’s street lighting and the second covers 30 other accounts for various buildings.  The separate agreement for street lighting is required to get a lower rate due to a smaller capacity charge as they are used exclusively overnight.  These agreements are lowest of the quotes that were received for during this term.

The Public Services and Development Committee reviewed and recommended approval.

Approval of Resolution (22R-069) Approving Emergency Repair of Interceptor Sewer by Airy’s, Inc. for Sanitary Sewer Repair

Approval of Resolution (22R-070) Approving Purchase of a 2022 Ford Transit T30 Armored Van from the Armored Group Using State Forfeiture Funds

Trustees voted to approve this purchase of a replacement vehicle.  The Village needs to replace its 1993 retired brinks armored truck as it does not meet the needs of modern law enforcement and has created a burden on the Village with the increased cost of maintenance and replacement parts.

A new armored van will be purchased to be utilized by the Raid Entry and Containment Team and Problem Oriented Policing Unit for narcotics investigations and to safely conduct investigations.

The van will be purchased using state forfeiture funds with zero cost to the taxpayers of the Village. The total cost is $189,979.00 and said funds cannot be comingled with any other police funds and will only be used for this purchase.

The Public Safety Committee reviewed and recommended approval.
