Emergency Management Agency

Mission Statement

The Bolingbrook Emergency Management Agency (BEMA) is a volunteer organization tasked with the responsibility of providing emergency services and coordinating the efforts of the Village and other agencies to prepare for, respond to, mitigate and recover from disasters, both natural and man made. Bolingbrook EMA also provides unique and supplemental emergency services to protect the general welfare and safety of the public.

Services Provided

  • Tornado Spotting
  • Search and Rescue
  • Emergency Sheltering (in conjunction with the American Red Cross)
  • Emergency Evacuation
  • Emergency Power and Lighting

Secondary

  • Traffic Control
  • Security
  • General Assistance as needed by any Village Department

Applicants

All applicants will be required to have a background check completed. Interested citizens can fill out an application and return it to Fire Administration, 375 W. Briarcliff Road.

  • Valid driver’s license
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Willing to be available 24/7 (for emergency situations)
  • Reside in the Village of Bolingbrook
  • Previous weather spotting experience preferred, will train
