The Village of Bolingbrook offers nuisance wildlife removal (Many Cities and Villages do not - They make you hire your own trapper).

Our most common nuisance animal is the skunk. Bolingbrook Animal Control will assess the situation and may set a trap themselves or utilize a professional trapper that we have contracted with to remove the animal at no cost to the resident.

If a resident would like to trap the animal themselves, they must first obtain a nuisance wildlife control permit from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, click
here for more information (https://www.dnr.illinois.gov/adrules/Documents/17-525.pdf), utilize an appropriate cage-trap for the nuisance animal, and use the proper safety precautions recommended here on page #3 (http://www.bolingbrook.com/vertical/sites/%7B55EB27CA-CA9F-40A5-A0EF-1E4EEF52F39E%7D/uploads/Trap_Request.pdf).

Once the animal is caught, the resident should call to have it removed by an Animal Control Officer at (630)226-8670.

Common nuisance animals are; raccoons or squirrels in the residence/attic (we will trap the animal, but do not repair where they are entering), opossums in the garage (commonly confused for a large “rat” due to the hairless tail), and coyotes in the neighborhood (we do not trap coyotes, but instead recommend intimidation and displacement).
